  • 4 cups cubed day-old bread
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vanilla pudding mix
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed bread and mashed bananas.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the mixture over the bread and bananas, and let it soak for about 15 minutes.
  5. If using, fold in the chopped nuts.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
