1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips for filling
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until just combined.
Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to create an indentation in the center of each cookie.
Fill each indentation with chocolate chips.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, then let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a fun variation, try using different flavored chocolate chips or add nuts!
