Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet until crispy.
  2. Remove the bacon and sauté the onions in the same skillet until caramelized.
  3. Form the ground turkey into patties and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook the turkey patties in the skillet until browned on both sides.
  5. Assemble the patty melt by layering the turkey patty, bacon, onions, and cheese between two slices of rye bread.
  6. Butter the outside of the sandwiches and grill in the skillet until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the turkey before cooking.
  • Serve with pickles and potato chips for a classic touch.
