A delightful twist on traditional au gratin potatoes, combining creamy layers with turkey bacon for a delicious side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Slice the potatoes thinly and layer half in the dish.
  4. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle half the cheese and turkey bacon.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, cheese, and bacon.
  7. Top with Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 45-60 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra creaminess, add more cheese.
  • Can substitute regular bacon instead of turkey bacon.
