Delicious gingerbread crinkle cookies that are the perfect holiday treat.

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add molasses, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until fully integrated.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Roll dough into balls, then roll in powdered sugar before placing on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until they are set and crinkled on top.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg.
