  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup strong espresso, cooled
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine egg yolks and sugar over medium heat, whisking until thickened.
  2. Stir in milk and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  3. In a bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then gently fold in mascarpone cheese.
  4. Combine the cooled espresso with ladyfingers, dipping them briefly before layering them in a dish.
  5. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, then layer another set of dipped ladyfingers on top.
  6. Top with the remaining mascarpone mixture and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  7. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.
