  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • 1 batch Bearnaise sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add milk, cheese, bacon, and chives, stirring until just combined.
  5. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1/2-inch thickness.
  6. Cut into desired shapes and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Drizzle with Bearnaise sauce before serving.

  • For a vegetarian option, omit the bacon and add more vegetables.
